Move Your Body!!

If you don’t exercise, you don’t like to exercise, or you wish you had more motivation when you exercise this is for you!

Here are some tips and tricks to get excited to move your body!

#1 Make a realistic plan– get a journal, here is mine.

It’s tattered and torn but it has workouts (4 good workouts shown), bible verses, meal plans, and water and food stains throughout.  I right down moves, reps, and even what muscles were sore the next day.  Having a plan and setting goals gives you something to achieve and work towards. Not to mention it shows you how far you’ve come!  My old workout that I called “Insane Workout” is a walk in the park now!

#2 Get a friend – or 2 or 3 when Becca and I started working out it was just the two of us. It gives you accountability, encouragement, and a little competition pushes you to do more then you would on your own.

#3 No Excuses – Everyone can come up with reasons not to exercise.  I will give you 1,000 reasons why you need to but here are my top reasons.  #1 God gave you an amazing body (same as an Olympic athlete) and if you don’t use it you lose it!   #2 the benefits are endless- more energy, better brain function, you feel good, look good, which rolls over into being a better mom, wife, friend, and employee #3 God cares about how we take care of our body and if you don’t believe me just pray “Lord please give me the motivation to exercise” and look out!  #4 It’s Fun – when you find activities you love, people you love, and keep trying something new it really becomes fun!

swim workout This morning a few of my amazing friends did a swim workout (Melissa and Amy the girls in the back both swam in college so they couldn’t wait to kick my butt in the pool).  It was something new and scary (because I sink better than I swim) but it was fun and they got us special pink swim caps for the occasion!!

#4 Just Do It – Don’t over think it and just move every day!  Try some of my 2 minute challenges at Shannonclelli on Instagram or on our You Tube Channel linked above!  Before long exercise will be a great habit, like brushing your teeth!

Who’s Ready for an Amazing Week?

Are you ready?  We’re ready, let’s motivate each other and all those around us to make God proud!

We have a great quick video for you that puts everything into perspective.  We don’t exercise and eat well to be super models but to bring glory and honor to God.  He gives us one amazing body to use for this short time on earth and He tells us, “  19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.”1 Corinthians 6:19-20. Let the focus of the week be on making God proud with our choices!

It’s hard to follow that amazing teaching but now it’s time to move our bodies!!  I have a simple challenge for you 100 burpees, 100 push ups, and 100 sit-ups you can break it up however you need to but DON’T take a shower before you do thisWinking smile

Becca and I both love our plain Greek yogurt. Please don’t buy the sugar loaded version, just add your own sweetener and fruit or make our recipe below!!  These ingredients are always in my house so I have no excuse not to grab something healthy when I’m hungry.  This also travels well just keep the cereal on the side!

Yogurt Crunch!

1 cup of Plain Greek yogurt

Any fruit – strawberries, bananas, and blueberries are my favorite

1/4 cup of Kashi Go lean crunch

any sweetener of your choice

and the secret ingredient is Chia seeds, if you haven’t tried these wonderful little seeds you must!  There are so many reasons you will love them, go here for the health benefits of the chia seed.  Try Chia seeds in your yogurt, oatmeal, smoothies, even pancake batter (your kids will never know).

Nobody is Motivated Every Day

I don’t know anyone who is overflowing with motivation every day.  There will surely be days that you have nothing, like your motivation tank had a leak and there is nothing left.  But “ Do you not know? Have you not heard?”

Isaiah 40:28-31 says how even the youth grow tired but if we hope in the Lord He will renew our strength.  So if you have an empty tank and are feeling like you can’t make it through the week remember that God never grows tired and when our hope is in Him we will run and not grow weary!!!

This morning the treadmill seemed more like a torcher devise then fun.  Running outside to me has become pure heaven.  I have a perfect 3 mile loop around my house so it is the minimum I can go unless I turn around and come back.  When I was pregnant that loop took me an hour to walk.  After I had the baby I would run just until I was going to die and walk the rest.  One day I ran the entire 3 miles without stopping, I almost died, I couldn’t breath but it was such a huge accomplishment.  Today, I can run forever but in PA it is cold and dark at 5am so my running fix will only happen on a treadmill…yuck!  To make my treadmill workout a bit more exciting and a good sweat session I do this 20 minute routine.  You can do it on any cardio equipment and if you aren’t dying at the end you didn’t do it right.

Before Shower Challenge

Are you ready for our first of many challenges to strengthen you both physically and mentally?  The physically part is that this challenge isn’t easy and some of you won’t be able to finish one of the moves on our list but that is not what matters.  What matters at the end of the month is that #1 you did it before EVERY shower, even if for 5 minutes #2 that you give 100% pretend we are standing beside you yelling “YOU CAN DO IT!!”  #3 Write down what you accomplish on your first workout, you might not be able to do a handstand but keep trying, and by the end of the month you should see amazing progress!!!  Please leave us a note if you are taking our “Before Shower Challenge”!
