Why I do What I Do!

Tomorrow I start another round of boot camp.  A little (actually kinda big) group of women meet under a pavilion, in a park to get their butt’s kicked by me!  I do this for FREE (some wonderful women give donations) but I offer it for FREE….Why?

bootcamp10

#1 – I believe every women should see what they are capable of….I know each one of us has an incredible body, with amazing strength! Nothing is greater then when someone sees a piece of that inner athlete!!  I don’t care if you’ve never run in your life….you can!  I don’t care if you’ve never seen your muscles….they are in there and if you don’t use them you lose them!!

#2  – I don’t want anyone to live defeated!!  I lived defeated, frustrated, and unhappy with my body for WAY to long…life is short and you NEED to be the best version of you!  Not just for you but for everyone around you!

#3  – It’s not about being skinny!!  I am fit not skinny, I started this boot camp heavy (check out my journey here), I wore sweatshirts and baggy clothes.  I was even pregnant through one of the boot camps.  For me it’s not about size, it’s about challenging yourself no matter your shape or your size, stepping out of your comfort zone and pushing yourself to where you never thought you could go to be the best version of you!

Ultimately I feel so blessed to be where I am today mentally and physically and I want everyone to have the same opportunity! I want to help everyone be free from the roller coaster of defeat with weight loss, food, diet, and exercise and just be healthy!  I hope everyone that joins me with the boot camp and/or nutrition challenge with the 21 day fix will learn to love healthy food, and learn to love exercise and how good it makes them feel instead of all this being a chore or seeming impossible! It would be even more amazing to have each women that joins me go on and encourage all those around them to love being healthy too!!

This is why I do what I do!

Each of us has a story, has a journey, and I know God has great plans for you when you trust Him!!

“Jesus looked at them intently and said,

“With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

FREE DAY!!!

Yesterday my amazing parents took all 4 of my children to Hershey for the day, awesome Grammy and Pop pop!!  On this wonderful FREE DAY I sat in line for an hour to get my licensed renewed, went to a doctors visit that took 3 minutes but 2.5 hours of waiting, I had 2 decorating appointments (yes I do interior decorating too) and then I gave blood Smile with tongue out Seriously, probably the worst FREE DAY ever!!

As I type this I am starting to cry because I am overwhelmed with thankfulness!!  As I sat waiting for my drivers license I opened my passport which I brought with me because I lost my old license (bad I know).  I almost died!!!

PhotoGrid_liscence

#1 it expired three years ago and #2 I don’t recognize the person in it.

At my doctors appointment and giving blood I was overwhelmed with thankfulness that I take no medications, have no ailments and the nurses at both places were so kind to throw lots of compliments my way.  I’m humbled that at my age I can feel better then I ever have in my life and in turn be helping women change theirs!!! God is so good, I just want everyone to be FREE to stop trying and start trusting God in every aspect of their life!!

3 His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 4 Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

2Peter 1:3-4

Please reach out, I want to help, and encourage anyone who wants to know what it means to truly let go and trust God in every aspect of your life!! So you can experience a

FREE DAY!!!

21 Days–That’s it?!!

Here is what I’ve learned in 11 days on the 21 Day Fix and drinking Shakeology!

#1  I USED TO EAT WAY TOO MUCH FOOD!

21 day fix

Here is what came in the mail- little containers, did I say little? It also came with an eating plan to follow and the Shakeology (I got the challenge pack which you can see here) .  The good news it allows you to eat all the foods I already eat, the bad news is the portions are cut in half Surprised smile!!  I looked at each meal before I ate it and said to myself “I am going to die, I will be starving”….I ate my meal….walked away…..and miracle of all miracles….I’m fine!!

Not starving, not dying but feeling really good Surprised smile !!!

Ready for the next shocker, I still kinda don’t believe it myself!!!

21dayfix

look at the middle picture- see how the bottom screen says 11 days – that is what I weighed 11 days ago (early morning weight)  and the top weight is what it said this morning Surprised smile seriously, just like that I get rid of excess food and my body drops the excess weight?  Too good to be true but here are the other numbers TOP LEFT is BMI,  TOP RIGHT is my body’s age, BOTTOM LEFT is my body fat and BOTTOM RIGHT is my muscle mass (percentage of my body that is muscle).  I would never share my scale shots with the world but this is so impressive and unbelievable to me that I had to share so that anyone can get going on this ASAP!!!

Roughly lost 7lbs, 2% body fat, kept my muscle, and decreased my BMI and body’s age.  I’m sure some of this has to do with water retention but I don’t ever see the 130’s.

#2 YOU CAN KEEP GETTING BETTER!!

I wasn’t trying to lose weight, honestly I am so happy and thankful for where God has put me!  I tried this program truly just to help others, not realizing that it would also help me.  I run a boot camp in Perkasie and I wanted to give everyone the tools they needed to really feel their best and I was searching for a simple nutrition plan.  I don’t believe in crazy diets that cut healthy food out just for the sake of calories or lose weight quick scams.  I want people to learn to eat for life, and include all the food groups to feel the best you can and that is what this plan is!

The Shakeology has been the biggest shocker for me because I was a skeptic.  I saw the videos of how amazing it is for you and all the wonderful benefits but again at $129.00 a bag I wasn’t sold.

shakeology2

Sold – It cost $4 a day for a meal that curbs my cravings, gives me energy, and helps me to not feel hungry ALL day long (which in turn saves me a TON of money on extra food my body doesn’t need).  The best part is the whole family loves them.  My husband has been doing the shake and nutrition plan (started 2 days after me and ate like a horse on the 4th of July) and he is down 8 lbs Smile with tongue out men stink.  My beautiful Taylor is 6, she hates vegetables, and is always hungry like her momma.  She loves the shakes, and she now gets all her veggies in a half scoop and she is NOT as hungry!!!!  Getting all your nutrients for the day in one drink does change the rest of your day!

#3 THERE IS NOTHING BETTER THEN HELPING OTHERS FEEL THEIR BEST!!!

I am so excited that so many have already joined me on this journey to be and feel their best and I can’t wait to share their story’s as well!!

I want to help anyone who is ready to stop the weight battle forever whether you have 5 or 100 pounds to lose.  With God and the right tools I know that anything is possible.  Dream Big, don’t give up, and be the amazing person God created you to be!!!

What are you waiting for?

I spent YEARS yo-yo dieting, here was my mental state….one minute……”I don’t care”…..next minute……”I’m so fat”…..”I will start Monday”…..”maybe this new diet will work.”   Until God showed me that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Relying on Him to help me with my struggle changed everything. When things are hard and I lean on Him with all my might He gives me joy in the midst.  When I lean on my own strength I am a mess….full of stress, worry, and fear.  I’ve learned that I’m God’s girl and nothing is going to stop me!

This is me today; I’ve managed to stay within 5 pounds of my transformation which was a year and a half ago.  I’ve had moments of being focused and driven.  I’ve cut out everything from my diet with Whole30 and experimented with different recipes and eating styles such as Paleo.  I’ve also had weak moments of not wanting to think about food at all and I’ve fallen off the wagon into a pit of ice cream but I haven’t given up!

I get bored easily so I’ve challenged myself (and Becca) with different workouts.  I’ve taken crossfit classes, trx, spinning, and even tried some lap swimming.  I also just went for my first bike ride of the season and I still try to go for a run here and there.  I believe fitness should be fun and when it’s not you’ve got to try something new.  I even tried resting…haha.

The best part of this journey God has put me on is that He has used me to inspire others.  Life is short and everyone should get the chance to love their body and see it’s full potential.  It took me 34 years but I know it can happen at any age, and any fitness level.  We were all created perfect, in God’s image and it is up to us to seek Him in being all He designed us to be!

I started a new journey for a few reasons #1 I want everyone to experience what they are capable of and love the body God gave them #2 I want them to inspire others #3 If it could be their job that would be amazing!!!

I own a successful smoothie franchise that I have had for 12 years.  I love my smoothie shop and hope I have it forever but I also love helping others with their fitness goals!  I could be a personal trainer? Go into nutrition? or join an amazing organization with a product I know works and give people the opportunity to make a great income, while helping others from the comfort of their own home!

That’s right

Beachbody!

I’m sure you have heard of the company, the makers of P90X, Insanity, and Shakeology.  If you haven’t heard of them their programs are exactly what I preach – clean eating (with occasional treats), muscle and cardio combined for the most effective workout in the shortest amount of time and a smoothie to replace one of your meals!! I am running my first challenge group over the month of July.  The program is the 21Day Fix Challenge pack.  You get a simple eating plan with proper portion containers, it comes with great workouts, and a 30 day supply of Shakeology (your protein smoothie that curbs appetite, gives you energy, and all the nutrients you need for the day)! Here is what comes in the mail!

21 day fix

My husband is doing it with me and he already lost 7 pounds, so not fair!

The BEST PART of doing this program with me is that I can be your PERSONAL COACH for FREE (if you want accountability)! I want you to SUCCEED and for you to see your full POTENTIAL!!

If you want any information about the company, why I’m doing it, and how you can join me, please don’t hesitate to contact me at shannonclelli@gmail.com

So what are you waiting for?

Who Cares About the Scale?

“Life is not about body fat and muscle tone.

It’s about where our hearts are at and His grace alone.

It’s not about the mirror or any other measurement,

but in our service to others, reflecting the Son He sent.

We’re called to honor the body,

but not for our praise or reward.

We’re just simple, humble stewards, on a mission for the Lord.

So eat right, train hard, but don’t forget your purpose,

God sees your heart and not what’s on the surface.”

This was quoted from The PrayFit Diet.  I don’t have the book but I get their daily devotional and I love the message they share.  It’s not about diet, it’s not about your size, or what the scale says it’s about honoring God in how we take care of this incredible body He’s knit together.  It’s about seeking Him in every area of our life for His glory to be revealed.  I am just a work in progress, God keeps shaping and molding my life if I let Him one day at a time.  So throw out that scale and live each day to glorify and honor God with all the blessings He has given us!

“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.”

What a great message to start 2014!

This is the first day of the Jesus Calling for kids devotional that I read  (almost) every morning with my kids. When we start the day with God’s truth it’s amazing how that can affect our attitude.  My challenge this year is to start every day in God’s presence, quietly seeking Him and His will for my day and my life and letting the noise of the world grow dim.  I know that this is the key to every other struggle in my world – food, money, relationships, wants, desires, frustrations.  Only God can fill and heal all the areas I struggle with and even the area’s I don’t even realize I struggle with.

33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”John 16:33

Hope you have an amazing 2014!

I’m Alive

I can’t believe it is December 1stSurprised smile  The past 6 months have been a big blur. My (Shannon’s) family moved.  For some of you that may not be a big deal but it was for me.  My husband is the world’s most talented man (in my eyes).  The home we bought 11 years ago was an old farmhouse that we re-built, actually Anthony AKA my husband re-built.  We got married, had four beautiful babies in that house and I met God at that house!!  We are now renting that home to a beautiful family that seems to love it as much as we do.

Our new home Anthony also re-built to help it accommodate our family.  This is the house I grew up in and we needed to make it our own.  Unfortunately this meant not having a husband for a long time because he would work his regular job and work on our new home at night.  Reminder we have 4 kids and we were moving (which was my responsibility).  Long story short we did it, but I could never have done it without the help and hard work of my parents.  They are the hardest workers I know and if I can do half of what they do to help my kids some day it will be a blessing!

The other big transition was going from home school to public school and so far it is going good but stressful.  That is another story that I will save for later.  All of these transitions have put my food and fitness on the back burner.  I’m thankful that I have set up some good habits and rules for myself in the food department that have kept me somewhat on track but it is still hard, not gonna lie!

oops  I’m not a fan of selfies but again I need to tell the truth.  Here is my accountability tank top.  Becca bought this for our race this summer and she got me an extra small (so sweet) except I am far from extra small.  The good news is, it fit (just barely) and we looked cute and matching for our 2nd place finishWinking smile

I am free of standing on the scale all the time, counting calories, and being crazy but I still need to be accountable for treating my body well and this little tank top hurts!!! The built in bra is squeezing me so bad that I can’t wear it, so guess what time it is?  Yup, time to tighten the reins to loosen the tank top!  No better time of the year for that then holidays Sad smile

I thought about another accountability while reading my bible this morning and it really summed up how I feel in my daily walk with God and in this world.  It’s Ezekiel 19:10-14 I want to type it all out but I would probably lose you but here is the jest of it is.  We are like a vine planted by the water (which is a symbol of being close to God for me); it is fruitful and full of branches because of the water but when we are apart from God those strong fruitful branches whither and it is in the desert, dry and thirsty. This is how I know when I’m not keeping God first in my life.  When stress, fear, anger, and worry enter my life I know that I’m not focusing on the One who already has it all figured out.  Acts 17:24-31 gives a great perspective.

So my tank top is tight and my land is feeling a little dry but it’s never too late to start fresh each morning. “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23

What holds you accountable?
