A New Heart

Do you ever hear voices? Do you ever stand in front of the mirror and hear “you’re fat”, “you’re ugly”, “just give up you will never change”? Do you avoid pictures, changing rooms, and mirrors all together because of those negative feelings!?!

If you can relate to this I want you to get something straight….that is NOT truth!! Those are satan’s lies that he uses to beat people down and want to dive into a gallon of ice cream.

Do you know what it means to have a new heart?

“And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you.”
Ezekiel 36:26

Do you know what God means when He says He will renew our mind?

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
Romans 12:2

It’s an internal transformation to see the world from God’s perspective.  To love people the way God would, to seek after treasures in heaven verses the things of this world.  The most important part of the internal transformation is to see yourself from God’s perspective.

You are God’s girl, made perfect and loved more than you can imagine.  You were made for a plan and a purpose and you are beautiful!!

That is truth..no matter what you have ever thought in the past!

So keep the #plankandpray Challenge from instagram going  (follow me at shannonclelli if you don’t already:). Paige added a new challenge today by sitting on my back…haha!

Pray that God renews your mind and gives you a new heart to see yourself and the world from His perspective!  Pray that He gives you eyes to see you are His amazing creation!!  Use the hash tag #plankandpray and challenge your friends to do the same!!!
With love,

Those that know me best know I am a mess in my own strength!  Actually, I say that all the time, but I don’t think they really believe me!

I really am, in my own strength I want to eat every bad food, I don’t want to exercise, I don’t want to do housework, and all I WANT to be is selfish!

In God’s strength my mind is transformed.  I want to eat and exercise to take care of the body God has given me.  I want to love my husband and children sacrficially, never thinking about my own agenda.  I want to help others and give to others everything I have without limits.

The craziest part is the first version of me, in my own strength, is miserable! That version complains internally and externally all day, is exhausted, stressed and worried.  That person is never satisfied and constantly wishing and dreaming of more or better!

In God’s strength it is effortless.  He gives me a peace, love, and joy beyond understanding.  I no longer am trying but trusting and life in that place is truly amazing!

How can you remember and stop to pray throughout the day to check your heart?

#plankandpray Challenge I posted on instagram

So get down in a plank and pray all through out the day!  Set a goal as often as you can for as long as you can and keep starting fresh to choose God’s strength each time!

Grab your bible or a bible app and read 1 Peter 4…here is a little verse from it

“The end of all things is near.  Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray.” 1 Peter 4:7

Who will join me?

Just Like That

It’s over, summer is gone and I’m sad!  It went so quickly.  I had such great expectations but it flew past in a whirlwind!!
I have the timehop app on my phone and it’s killing me!

Yup, that boy in the top picture that is almost as tall as my husband, this was his 1st day of Kindergarten!  Where does it go? Time just keeps flying by!!

Don’t let this life slip past.  I know God has great plans for anyone that will trust Him, seek Him and forget what they can do but look at what God can do with your life!!

It makes me think about the day I will stand before God.
“For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body.”
2 Corinthians 5:10

“You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat.
It is written: “‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.'”
So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.” Romans 14:10-12

Will I have wished I lived differently? Will I have wished I loved more? I don’t want life to pass me by in a whirlwind and I don’t want to be consumed by things that don’t matter in the end.

So as a new school year begins I want to live purposefully, set my goals high, and live each day seeking God and His will for my life!

I was so busy this summer with my businesses and kids that I’ve allowed my time with God not be my priority.  In turn my eating wasn’t great and workouts were here and there but not as consistent and I feel it and see it.  It’s amazing how these three elements- Faith, Food, and Fitness, truly affect every aspect of your life.

It is so easy to NOT spend time with God, to NOT exercise, and to NOT eat well.  Trust me Satan loves when we are in this place and he wants us to stay there.  Know that God has so much more for us!!! When we spend time with Him we can hear His voice, He can guide our lives, and He gives us peace, love, and joy that surpasses all understanding!

When we exercise we are taking care of the body God has given us and exercise greatly affect our quality of life.

You are never to old to exercise and remember if you don’t use it, you lose it!

This will be a bit harsh but it is the truth.  God designed amazing food for us to consume.  He also gave us these incredible bodies that use His amazing food to nourish us with vitamins and nutrients to keep us strong!!  Food has become so processed with syrups, dyes, and chemicals that it’s no longer food.  These other products are making our world sick, causing people to over indulged, and because of the lack of nutrients our bodies will never be satisfied.

This is not how God designed us to operate and I know when I’m not taking the time to spend time with God everything else falls apart!!

Is food or fitness something you struggle with? I challenge you to stop.

Here is your challenge…spend time with God..get alone (even if it’s in the bathroom) lose distractions and cry out to God.  Repent of being sucked into this world and it’s desires.  Ask for Him to change you, one day at a time, one choice at a time, and let Him know you want to experience who He created you to be!! Prayer changes everything!!

So DON’T give up, start fresh, and next time you don’t want to exercise or you don’t know what to eat, ask the one who made you and designed you perfectly to help you!!!

Who will take the challenge!?!
