Transformation Starts On The Inside!

Wow, this is an amazing message that I had to share!  I can’t believe I was able to watch this uninterrupted but it is only because God knew I needed it!

Our story is about our lives being transformed inside and out.   If you don’t know the power and the love of our amazing God it’s time to give up!  That’s right give up trying to do everything in your own strength, give your life to God and let the transformation begin!!!

Here I am

Then I said,“Here I am, I have come- it is written about me in the scroll,  I desire to do your will, O my God;  your law is within my heart.”

Psalm 40:7-8

What if we woke up each morning with prayer on our heart, how different our days would be.  Here I am – that is so strong, it is standing before God saying Here I am. I have come– it’s like telling God you are showing up for work. It is written about me in the scroll – I love this because it is true and reminds us how valuable we are to God. Over and over again in the bible God tells us about the book of life and our name being written in it. I desire to do your will, O my God – it is ultimately what I desire but how often do I do it or even to stay quite long enough to hear it?  Your law is within my heart- This is awesome “Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You” (Psalm 119:11)

With all this truth in this one little prayer how can we not hang it on our mirror, put it in our car, or glue it to the refrigerator to remind us of the only thing that matters – doing the will of God!

10 Weeks to Summer

That’s right ladies summer is just 10 weeks away.  It will be HOT, we will hopefully get to lay by the pool or the beach, and we will surely be outside often either working in the yard, going on hikes, or playing with the kids.  Please don’t let this be a summer that you need to hide under a cover up or feel uncomfortable in your own skin.  We are God’s girls made perfect and beautiful and this could be your summer to be healthy, strong, and fit just as God intended!


We have 10 little challenges for the next 10 weeks, because we know you can do it!!!

  • Start a Journal Start keeping track of each day- your lessons from God, your food, and your workout.  Make sure to write your victories and failures and learn from them!
  • Sign up and Train for a race – This is not just great for you but usually a charity is involved with this goal.  So find something that gets you motivated.  You can race with Becca and I in the Rugged Maniac in NJ or the Patriot Games at Peace Valley Park in PA (info isn’t out yet for this race but we will keep you postedWinking smile)
  • Lose up to 20 pounds (crazy right, just 2 pounds per week) by tracking your food and keeping exercise a priority you can do it.  Check out our food diaries and workout routine if you need any help or ideas.
  • Find your fitness love Make it your goal to find something you love to do that requires you to break a sweat.  Try Zumba, weight lifting, tennis, running, biking, Spinning, or TRX.  The list goes on and on but try a bunch until you find something that makes you feel great, has you looking forward to your next time, and something you will “love”!  I promise everyone has something they just haven’t found it yetSmile
  • Achieve a fitness goal- complete 100 pushups or 5?  Run 5 miles or 3? do 10 pull ups or 2?  Whatever your goal is see it through, but be sure to set a new one!
  • Find 10 Healthy new meals you love keep trying and experimenting until you find super healthy foods that you don’t just eat to be healthy but because they are delicious and you love them!  Make sure to write the recipes and the meals down because I promise you will forget!  Then be sure to share them with usWinking smile
  • One Day at a time Focus on each day, not 10 weeks.
  • Find a workout buddy start asking friends and family if they would like to workout with you and hopefully in the next 10 weeks you can find someone that will buddy up and hold you accountable.
  • Find Balance – over the next 10 weeks aim for balance.  Do not beat yourself up when you eat something you shouldn’t but pat yourself on the back when you overcome a temptation.  Depriving yourself will never work it is about moderation and balance.
  • Draw closer to God This should be your most important goal because nothing else matters!
    “Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize?  Run in such a way as to get the prize.  Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training.  They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.” 
1Corinthians 9:24-26

Every time I lose focus about why I do what I do I’m a mess. I will be taking on these challenges with all of you over the next 10 weeks and I’m going to run this race to win a crown that will last forever, not in my own strength but God’s, what about you?

Sunshine, New Sneakers, and Food

I love running outside! It was my first fitness goal I ever made, achieved, and surpassed. I wanted to be able to run the 3 mile loop around my house which at one point took me an hour to walk.  Now I am about to run a half marathon with Becca, registration is closed but for next year;) For me the trick to running is just two things

#1 Push yourself past your comfort zone and

#2 Rest. 

Every time you run you should run just a little further then you did the last time, it won’t be comfortable and you will want to stop but push as long as you can and every time you will be stronger, go further and believe it or not running becomes relaxing Surprised smile it’s true!  Rest is so important, running everyday is not good for you mentally or physically.  Too much running is hard on your body and the point of running is to help your body, not harm it.  People get obsessed with the calorie burn running can cause but what they don’t realize is that if you run too much your body gets used to it and it becomes so efficient that eventually running doesn’t burn nearly the calories it used to. Not to mention you will burn out. So RestSmile

It has been awful in PA this winter as far as the weather is concerned. Gloomy, dreary, and cold…. oh my!  Well, God has heard my cries and the past couple days have been beautiful!!  We went from freezing cold to the tropics in under 48 hours, insane! So 1/2 marathon training is in full gear (or is supposed to be).  I bought new sneakers does that count as training?  Life has been crazy and running hasn’t been happening as much as I would like. With four kids and no nanny a day time run is never going to happen and my morning window is still darkSad smile so I’ve got the shoes which I got on super sale for $85, now I just need to run! 


Easter messed me up!  Let’s just say I ignored what I should eat and ate what I knew I shouldn’t.  The worst part was I didn’t even practice moderation, and I got sugar pimples (pimples I get when I have sugar) all over my face.  Ever since I’ve cut out sugar it’s crazy how my body reacts to it when it has some #1 I can’t stop eating it It’s hard to stop eating it #2 My face breaks out.  Awesome right?  So detox has happened and I’m feeling so much better but it is awful when you first cut junk out of your diet no matter who you are!  For me the key to eating healthy is always having great things prepared.  Tonight, because of the beautiful weather I grilled up our amazing turkey burgers, a Flank Steak, and Chicken with an amazing new marinade you are going to love!  I also made a large batch of roasted vegetables (just zucchini, and baby bella mushrooms sprayed with olive oil and sprinkled with garlic salt) and sweet potatoes in a 400 degree oven.  Lastly a batch of Quinoa on the stove, I didn’t know what to eat firstSmile




We need a little fun in our diet so that we don’t binge later (like my Easter episode).  So here is a little treat that is easy and delicious!



Remember the key is balance- No Diets, No beating ourselves up, No longing for what others have!

do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own 1 Corinthians 6:19

Be full of the Holy Spirit and make God proud!

I Am A Work In Progress!

The minute I think I’ve gotten anything figured out I need to stop because I know a good lesson is about to come!

“Do not be wise in your own eyes;  fear the Lord and shun evil.  This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.”  Proverbs 3:7,8

So my long pause on this little blog has caused me to reflect and remember why I started it. Becca and I started it to write what God is teaching us and keep it as a journal for us and our kids someday and the bonus is to share it with anyone who cares.  When God first gave me this to do it was effortless and fun because I felt it was God’s idea, not my own.  Then my own ideas started and this is when I fell apart.  I started looking at all these amazing blogs with super fit women, great content, perfect writing and grammar and I became defeatedSad smile

This is God’s Lesson for me

Satan will use WHATEVER, I mean WHATEVER HE CAN to give us

DISCOURAGMENT – make you look at your problems rather than God

DOUBT – makes you question everything, especially God

DIVERSION – he makes the wrong things seem attractive so you will want them more than the right things

DEFEAT – he makes you feel like a failure so you won’t even try

DELAY – he will have you put off doing something so it never gets done

So anyone who is reading this, when you feel these things happening in your life know who is tying you up and rendering you useless, but don’t let him!  You are God’s girl, made for a purpose and don’t allow anything to stand in the way of God’s plan for your life.

I will continue to share on here, but I can guarantee my spelling and grammar WILL not be good, I won’t post everyday but I will do my best to share my heart, give tips that help me and not allow anything to get in my way!
