Everyone gets discouraged. When the scale doesn’t move, you aren’t seeing any changes, and a moment of eating the wrong things and missing a workout can throw off your whole week, but don’t let it!!! When you start to feel discourage, or doubt slips into your mind, stop and counter those thoughts with truth. The truth is, every day you make a positive choice you are better then you were yesterday, and every step up the ladder of success you get closer. Stop looking at the end result as the goal and start looking at every positive choice as something you’ve conquered. Don’t aim for perfection but “Be the Best You Can Be”. One day at a time and one choice at a time.
I (Shannon) will be posting my story in the next couple days and I’ve got to tell you this could be the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. I spent my life discouraged A LOT over my weight and it goes way back! The issues were deeper then I even knew and sharing my journey, as hard as it is will hopefully help someone. I know now that it isn’t about wearing a size 2, and it’s not about winning a race, this is about being the best version of me I can be. I limited what I was capable of and more importantly what God is capable of !
One of my first mountains on this journey was vegetables. I honestly didn’t like them unless they were smothered in cheese or covered in butter. I started by adding shredded zucchini into things like chili and pasta sauce and using spinach in my salads (hiding them like a little kid). One of my favorite veggie sides is mashed cauliflower instead of mashed potatoes. Now I really LOVE cauliflower (honestly I can’t even believe I just typed that) Here are some ways I love my veggies!
